Damon Albarn: 'No more Gorillaz albums'

Damon Albarn has confirmed that Gorillaz will release no more studio albums.

The Blur singer said that the only project left for the cartoon band will be a film featuring a score composition, that has previously been linked to filmmaker and Monty Python mastermind Terry Gilliam.

Speaking to BBC Radio 2, Albarn said: "We're trying to make a film next, starting in September hopefully. It will be a film score. There won't be another pop record."

Reports suggest that the cartoon band members will act as alternative characters, as opposed to playing themselves.

The "band" released two album--their self-titled 2001 debut and 2005's Demon Days.
The New Year headline Club NME LA

The New Year played a rousing set at Club NME Los Angeles with Fred Perry Subculture last night (June 20).

Brothers Matt and Bubba Kadane (formerly of Bedhead) drew a huge crowd and put on an innovative and passionate show for Club NME-goers.

Opening act David Bazan, also known as Pedro the Lion, won over the crowd with his mellow brand of acoustic folk-rock.

Resident DJ Dia spun a mix of rock, electronica, punk and hip-hop before and after the sets.

Club NME with Fred Perry Subculture takes place at Spaceland in the Silver Lake neighbourhood of Los Angeles every Wednesday night.

Next Wednesday (June 27), Sunday Drivers and Strata are set to headline Club NME LA with Fred Perry Subculture.
